Mrs. Eunice Hannah to crown 2007 Queen

Mrs. Eunice Hannah will crown Queen Elect Alexandra Findlayson on June 29th.

Mrs. Hannah is the wife of Bo'ness Children's Fair Festival Procession Convenor David Hannah. This will be David’s twentieth year at the helm of the Fair Day Procession and what a fitting moment it will be for him and his wife.

Queen elect Alexandra comes from Bo'ness Public School and David being a former pupil makes it even more special. He started his involvement with the Fair back in 1980 when he started as a steward before joining the Entertainments Committee in 1984.

In 1986 he became Vice Convenor to the Entertainments Committee as understudy to then convener Maurice King. During his time in these positions he helped Procession Convener George Culbert with the procession outlay. David was asked to take the roll of Procession Convener after the sudden passing of George Culbert. A position he has held now for twenty years. Over these years he has had four Vice Convenors in Lennox Ainslie, Jim Condie, Peter Aitken and currently Gary Chapman.

Eunice has stood by David through all the pressure of trying to organize the Procession and he says, "It wouldn't have been possible without her support." She has help in the background with his tasks since he started with the Fair and is another one of many who go unmentioned yearly to devote their time and dedication to our Bo'ness Children's Fair Festival.

Having spoken to Eunice this week, says, "I am delighted to have been asked to Crown this years Queen." later on mentioned the thought of the nervous bit having to access the steps on the platform and in front of thousands and especially the wee speech required later.

Eunice went on to say,” I am sure with the guidance of my family and friends I will manage to get through the big day."

David finished off by saying, "He would like to thank all the stewards, committee and public for the support he has had during his time as Procession Convenor."
