FAIR E'EN ROAD CLOSURES - Thursday 24th June 2010

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the undernoted roads and streets in Bo'ness ("the designated area") will be closed and or subject to traffic and pedestrian regulation by the police for temporary periods described, on THURSDAY 24th JUNE, 2010 under the powers conferred upon Falkirk Council by Section 62 of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984:

The following streets will be closed to all the vehicular traffic with the exception of the Emergency Service Vehicles responding to an emergency with the described areas and vehicles belonging to and driven by residents in the said area.

Between 5pm and Midnight

Deanfield Drive at its junction with Dean Road

Deanfield Drive at its junction with Deanfield Cresent

Castlehill at its junction with Deanfield Road

Castlehill at its junction with The Loan

Dean Road at its junction with Cadzow Crossroads (eastward to its junction with Erngath Road)

Grahamsdyke Road at its junction with Gauze Road

Gauze Road at its junction with Kinglass Avenue

Erngath Road at its junction with Stewart Avenue (southward to its junction with Dean Road

Drivers and owners of vehicles parked in or upon any road or street will, if directed by a Police Constable in Uniform or Traffic Warden, remove said vehicle forthwith and without undue delay.

All vehicular traffic in Bo’ness will be subject to direction from Police and drivers must obey these instructions.

Restriction of Stances to Vendors:-

No *vehicle used for the purpose of vending, will be permitted to be parked or to cause an obstruction, nor any pedestrian selling, or offer for sale, any goods of whatever kind will be allowed passage on foot, in or near any public road within 200 yards specifically referred to in paragraphs 1-3 of this Schedule.

* vehicle to include a vehicle of any description, including a machine or implement of any kind drawn or propelled along roads, (whether or not by mechanical power)

REASON: In the interest of Public safety and convenience Falkirk Council considers that the above temporary prohibitions and restrictions are necessary.

FAIR DAY ROAD CLOSURES & VENDOR RESTRICTIONS - Friday 25th June 2010

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN tha, under the powers conferred upon the Falkirk council by section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended). the streets described in the schedule attached and signed as relative hereto will be closed to vehicular traffic from 8am on FRIDAY 25th JUNE 2010 to allow the Children's Fair Festival Procession. Alternative routes are available as detailed in the said schedule. Additionally, there will be a restriction on vendors as detailed in the said schedule.

 

1. Roads or parts of roads to be closed.

On Friday 25th June 2010, With the exception of Emergency Service Vehicles responding to an emergency with the described areas, the following roads in Bo'ness will be closed to all vehicular traffic during the assembly,  marshalling and progress of the Bo'ness Children's Fair Festival  Procession, and between the hours stated, viz:-

 (a) From 8.00am until 10.30am, Gauze Road from Grahamsdyke Road to the south side of the service road to St Mary's School, Kinglass Avenue  from Grahamsdyke Road to Gauze Road.

(b) From 9.00am until the procession has passed - Erngath Road, Cadzow Crescent, Linlithgow Road (at its junction with Dean Road to its junction with Braehead), Dundas Street (at its junction with Linlithgow Road), Church Wynd, Panbrae Road (at its junction with Church Wynd), Stewart Ave and Braehead.

(c) From 11.30am until the procession has passed - Kinneil Road at Snab Brae, Seaview Place, North Street, Main Street, Links Road, Grangepans, Cowdenhill Road, Philpingstone Road, Grange Loan,  Harbour Road, Grahamsdyke Road and Dean Road (from its junction with Erngath Road westward to its junction with Linlithgow Road).

 During the Fair Day, all vehicular traffic within Bo'ness will be subject to the direction from the Police and drivers must obey instructions.

 2. Alternative Arrangements for Public Transport.

On Friday 25th June 2010 the following arrangements will apply to the arrival and departure of passenger carrying vehicles and public transport between the hours of 10.00am until 2.00pm:-

(a) All Westbound buses ex Edinburgh which would normally travel through  Bo'ness calling at Bo'ness Bus Station will be re-routed on arrival at Bo'ness to travel westwards via Grahamsdyke Road, Dean Road and Snab Brae to Grangemouth.

(b)  All Eastbound buses ex Grangemouth or Falkirk which would normally travel through Bo'ness calling at Bo'ness Bus Station will be re-routed on arrival at Bo'ness to travel via Snab Brae and the reverse of route at (a) above.

(c) All buses ex Glasgow via Falkirk and Grangemouth terminating at Bo'ness Bus Station will on arrival at Bo'ness be re-routed via Kinneil Road, Corbiehall and from the roundabout at the junction of Corbiehall/Church Wynd/Seaview Place direct to Union Street, East Pier Street to the Bus Station.

(d) All Glasgow bound buses ex Bo'ness will on leaving the Bo'ness Bus Station travel via Union Street to the roundabout at Church Wynd/Seaview Place/Corbiehall and the reverse route mentioned at (c) above to Grangemouth Road.

(e) All northbound buses ex Linlithgow will be diverted from Linlithgow Road, Bo'ness via Jamieson Avenue, Bo'mains Road, Castlehill, Kinneil Road, Corbiehall and from the roundabout at the junction of Corbiehall/Church Wynd /Seaview Place direct to Union Street, East Pier Street and to the Bus Station.

(f) All southbound buses ex Bo'ness Bus Station will travel by the reverse of the route mentioned at (e) above.

 3. Roads and parts of roads including footways to be closed to members of the public on foot.

On Friday 25th June 2010 the following streets or parts of streets will be closed to the public:-

(a) The south east or main entrance to the Glebe Park and the portion of Braehead adjoining the entrance to the park between 9.00am and 12 noon.

(b) The north and south pavements in Dean Road between Cadzow Crossroads and Richmond Crossroads will be closed to the public between 12 noon and 1.15pm or until the procession terminates.

4. Restriction and Temporary Prohibition of use of road by certain classes of Vehicles and Pedestrians.

During the Fair Day all vehicular traffic within Bo'ness will be subject to direction from the Police and Traffic Wardens and drivers must obey instructions.
