It is with regret to say and with a heavy heart, Tonight we have been told that artist and teacher Guthrie Pollock has died.
First of most he was a Gentleman and judged arches as far back as I can remember. He was a teacher to almost everyone on the Executive Committee and Sub Committees. Also he taught almost everyone in Bo’ness during his time at Bo’ness Academy.
I once sat down with him on a summers day at Newtown Park where we spoke about what detail he would look for in arches. It certainly opened my eyes to the hammer, wood, nails and paint. But everyone is the same on the Fair Morning, they will all be excited and that is what Bo’ness Fair is all about.
We would like to send our condolences to his family and all who knew him.
