Kirking Great Success

Kirking of the Queen has been held annually at church on the Sunday prior to the Fair which is the start of the Fair Week.

Queen Elect Andrea Robertson and her Retinue made their way in to Craigmailen Church. The Retinue all dressed in school uniform with exception to Queen Elect Andrea, Chief Lady Reese McBlain, Reigning Queen Maddison Chapman, her Chief Lady Emma Scotland and Pages Ben Murdoch & Fraser Gemmell.

Pastor Frank Hartley made a warm welcome to the packed Kirk before Nicole Bell & Carla Hogarth (Queen and Chief Lady 2012 from the Public School) did the Introduction.

Champion Lauchlan Muir, Chief Lord in Waiting Cole Reid & Queen Maddison did great readings. Nicole Bell did a superb solo in Ed Sherrin’s “Photograph” while our ballet queen Carla Hogarth did a fairy like dance to the song.

Queen Elect Andrea and Chief Lady Reese did nice readings before Pastor Hartley made a presentation of a bible to Andrea.

Lastly Frank McGarry read the winning poem from Fiona Mitchell who won the Helen Ward-Birkby Cup for the best story/poem on “My Fair Day”

A special thank you goes to Pastor Frank Hartley, The Congregation of Craigmailen U.F. Church, The Ladies of Craigmailen U.F Church, Unison Kinneil Band, Thomas Cuthell & Sons, All Stewarding Volunteers, Bo’ness Schools Cluster Parents Councils, Mrs Gillian Genoe, Mrs Ann Ritchie & Bo’ness Public School Staff.
